Bauer Associates, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated full-time Geologist to join our team.

Engineering Geologist

Desired Skills and Experience:

2-3 years hands on experience desired but not required.

PG license desired, GIT required.  Either have obtained or working towards CEG license.

Minimum 2 - 3 years practical experience, including conducting subsurface evaluations, laboratory testing, analysis of field and laboratory test data, geological analysis (landslides, faults, etc.), and construction observation and testing.

Work well with other design consultants and contractors.   

Knowledge of GIS applications, geophysical analysis and slope stability analysis is helpful.

Responsibilities

The Geologist will be expected to have strong analytical skills, technical knowledge of the principles of soil mechanics, and be capable of performing a wide range of preliminary geotechnical engineering analysis and fieldwork.

Project tasks may include the following:

• Planning, scheduling, conducting and/or coordination of field and laboratory testing.

• Performing preliminary geologic and engineering analysis and report writing.

• Preparation of proposals, reviewing plans, geotechnical reports, calculations.

• Performing construction special inspections, observation and testing.
